This hand-painted Orthodox wooden icon depicts The Holy Prophet Elijah, the one who was taken from earthly life into heavenly life without passing through the gate of death.
The original painting, signed “DAM” (Ana Drăgan), portrays the saint ascending to heaven in the fiery chariot.
Saint Prophet Elijah is commemorated by the Church on July 20.
Through his zeal, Saint Prophet Elijah reached the highest peak of virtue. He did not depart through death, but was taken up into heaven, deemed worthy to behold face to face the glory of the Incarnate God, together with Moses and the three Apostles on the day of the Transfiguration (according to Matthew 17).
Elijah’s departure is presented as a miracle accomplished by the power of God, whom he had served with great authority. Tradition says that, sensing his days on earth were numbered, he chose Elisha as his successor. So great was his stature that the Lord granted him the grace of passing from this earthly life directly into the heavenly one, without going through the gate of death. He is the second figure of the Old Testament to be taken up bodily into heaven.
This wonder was witnessed by his disciple, as Elijah was carried up into heaven in a fiery chariot drawn by horses.

Icoana Sf. ILIE
Foarte frumoasa icoana!Foarte bine am colaborat și cu ei de pe site,iar icoana a sosit la timp,exact cum mi-am dorit!
Caldura prin culori
O tehnica deosebita ce inspira caldura, liniste, bunatate. Tehnica de pictura naiva aduce sobrietatea si solemnitatea icoanelor mult mai aproape de pamanteni. Cu o nota de modernitate, pictorita reuseste sa puna un strop de magie din povestile de folclor romanesti, dand o personalitate voioasa si gingasa tablourilor.
Foarte frumos, felicitari si pentru site. :)
Diferente
Desi icoana este perfecta, nu este identica cu cea pezentata pe site.
Diferentele sunt mai multe:
- rotile carului de foc
- inscrisul Sf. PROROC ILIE este scris mare pe mijlocul aureolei Sfantului iar in modelul prezentat pe site este scris mai mic, de o parte si de alta a capului
- si multe alte diferente, dar eu le-am mentionat doar pe cele care m-au deranjat.
Eu inteleg ca e o pictura naiva, executata manual, dar trebuia precizat ca vor exista diferente asa de vizibile si atunci as fi luat legatura cu dumneavoastra, la plasarea comenzii, si as fi cerut respectarea modelului prezentat.
Naivia says:Multumim pentru recenzie. Intr-adevăr, avându-se în vedere faptul că fiecare icoană este lucrată 100% manual, oricât am dori nu am putea avea două icoane identice. Însă aceasta este frumusețea lucrărilor realizate manual. Acest aspect este totuși menționat pe site-ul nostru, in pagina de întrebări frecvente.

E o mare bucurie si nu ma mai satur sa privesc toate detaliile aceastei icoane, Ana este GENIALA! Iti multumesc, Ana! Mai am 3 lucrari de ale tale si voi mai reveni
Un cadou de poveste!
Icoana aceasta, ca, de altfel, toate celelalte produse Naivia, este, cu adevărat, un dar de poveste! Asemenea creații nu pot rezulta decât din niște mâini iscusite, care meșteșugesc cu drag și cu mult, mult suflet. Toate detaliile sunt redate întocmai, așa cum arată in imaginile de pe site. Este un intreg univers, de fiecare dată descopăr alte și alte detalii, privind-o. Este ceva deosebit, eu nu m-am săturat să o privesc (bine, a trebuit să fac asta, acum e deja împachetată și gata spre a fi oferită în dar :)). Felicitări, Naivia ! O adevărată minunăție! Mai mult, trebuie să spun și faptul că mi-a fost lucrată și livrată într-un timp destul de scurt, așa cum a fost rugămintea mea. Cu drag, voi reveni pe acest site.
