Our venerable mother Mary of Egypt was a desert ascetic who repented of a life of prostitution. She lived during the sixth century, and passed away in a remarkable manner in 422. The Church celebrates her feast day on the day of her repose, April 1; additionally, she is commemorated on the Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt, the fifth Sunday in Great Lent.

Icoane cu suflet
Un om drag este nascut in ziua in care o praznuim pe Sfanta Maria Egipteanca si m-am gandit ca nu poate fi cadou mai potrivit decat o icoana cu Sfanta. Asadar m-am pregatit din timp si iata mai jos minunatia! Este superba si atunci cand o privesc simt ca Sfanta ma priveste si ea pe mine.
