When Archangel Gabriel locked all the devils into hell, a naughty little devil managed to escape and mix with the legions of angels. He painted his face white and his cheeks rosy, so he'd be taken as an angel. But St. Peter caught the trick and threw the devil by its tail straight to earth. His fall was so fast, that when he hit the ground he smashed into little glowy pieces that we now call "fireflies".
